After Treatment

Congratulations!

Your braces are finally off and now you can show off that great smile! However, don’t lose sight of the fact that the job is not completely done. You are now going from the active phase to the retention phase of your treatment. The following information is very important:

Wear your retainers faithfully (if you don’t, your teeth will move and may need retreatment)
Never eat while wearing your retainers
Never wrap the retainers in a napkin
Always place them in the retainer case to protect them
Gently clean your retainers daily with toothpaste and a toothbrush
Never use hot water to clean them and only store at room temperature
Don’t miss your next orthodontic appointment and bring your retainers with you
If your retainer breaks or gets lost, call for an appointment – your teeth will move quickly
You only get one set of retainers after treatment, please don’t break or lose them
